The APPLICATION PROCESS

Excited to take the next step? It costs nothing to apply.

The application process to become a Certified FIVE STAR EMPLOYER is simple.

We recommend you talk with your best employees about the criteria list and have them participate in choosing which ones you’ll submit to us. Getting their input and feedback can uncover useful perspectives on your company and employees. It’s also a great opportunity to generate a team culture and also recognize your top performers by asking them to participate in the process.

Advisory Board Review

Once complete, our FIVE STAR EMPLOYER advisory board will review your application. Our advisory board is made up of top HR and Talent experts from around the country who truly understand what it takes to build a FIVE STAR EMPLOYER culture.

After reviewing your application, we will send you an email letting you know if you are invited to take the next step, the: Interview.

Interview

For the interview, you will have a 20-30 minute one-on-one interview with a member of the FIVE STAR EMPLOYER Advisory Board, either by phone or via zoom. Instructions for how to schedule your interview will be provided in the email notification.

Certification

After evaluating the additional information from the interview, our expert panel decides whether or not to Certify your company. If you make it through, you will receive an email notification. Celebrate!

Certification costs $1500, payable online. Shortly after payment, you will receive your FIVE STAR EMPLOYER marketing kit in the mail containing two door decals, a framed certificate, and ideas for sharing the big news with your community and team members. Additional door decals, car decals, and multiple framed certificates can be purchased if desired.

If you do not qualify this time, do not worry! You can reapply in 12 months and try again. In the meantime, we can share some resources and coaches who can help you work on key initiatives to bring your organization up to the FIVE STAR EMPLOYER Certification level
